Death of the Land Rover - the car that financed P6

The Land Rover, the world's longest serving vehicle, has ceased production at the Solihull plant after an unparalleled 67 year production run.

25 Year Road Tax Petition

Just a year after the classic car industry was cheering at the re-introduction of tax exemption, albeit at 40 years old, a petition has been raised with the UK Government to re-instate tax exemption back to 25 years. The petition has taken off with over 16,000 signatures to date and has caught the imagination of the motoring press.

We have been contacted by Classic Car Weekly for our input to the debate due to the Rover P6 spanning the old 1972 cut-off point. They had collected statistics that showed that there were significantly more classic cars on the road (or SORN'd) pre-1973 than afterwards. So we did some collective digging as a result.

Classic MOT Exemption

MOTs for classic cars has long been a bone of contention. In many online forums, we hear the call that the annual test is a good thing, the properly trained and independent check that ensures that we've been caring for our cars to the best of our ability and in line with the legal requirements for roadworthiness. Many of us value that independent opinion and the annual pass certificate is a badge to be worn with pride.

4 Cylinder Workshop Manuals - on CD

Following on from the popularity and success of offering digitised manuals for the V8, we are pleased to finally be able to bring you the four cylinder workshop and parts manuals all on one CD. The delay to the production of these manuals has been due to the amount of manuals required, acquiring good quality copies and having them scanned by club volunteer Kit Moore.

Motorists targeted by email scam

Email asking to confirm identity from ‘DVLA’ is scam.

The Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) have confirmed that thousands of Driving Licence holders have received falsified emails stating that they will lose their license if they fail to check and confirm personal details online.

Within the email, a link is said to be contained which will instruct their target victim to fill out a form, including his/her licence number and more seriously, credit/debit card details which could potentially lead to identity theft.
